Today I want to talk to you about so many things that I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s start with well… the beginning.
So, as you know me, whenever I discover a song that I really, really like I obsess over it for days/weeks until I get it out of my system, or a new obsession appears. Well, this time it’s not only a song but a whole concept. What am I talking about? Well, let me first show you first what I’m blabbing about. It’s this video here:
Since I work in tourism right now, well, my job mostly consists of looking for cool destinations, sharing good quality content with people tourism-related of course, and all that jazz. Marketing to be more exact.
Well, this is how I ended-up one day discovering this video. It’s a video about Romania, more specifically about an area of Romania known as Transylvania (yes, that place where people know you can find vampires, but I promise you there are none! I’ll tell you more about this another time), which was captured by the user Stanly on Vimeo.
Now, as you noticed there’s a really nice song on its background accompanying the whole concept, that if you ask me, looks spectacular! And if you ask me, as a Romanian, the way this guy carefully selected these images and crafted this whole video, adding the song to it really managed to surprise the Romanian spirit into it. Gives you that vibe of magic, and trust me, if you ever get to visit this place (which I recommend!), you’ll know why sometimes, some people view my country as a place of magic. Because it is! ♥
But anyway, moving forward, yeah, this is how I came to discover the song I would obsess over for the next weeks (currently, I’m at my second week obsessing over this song :D).
Wonder what song is it? Well, let me help you with that.
Ta daa! This is it: ODESZA – Always This Late.
You know what’s also funny? That the guy couldn’t even imagine matching best two seemingly unrelated things to one another. Life has its strange ways of happening. What do I mean by this?
The fact that the irony of the fate made that in a video about Romania, a song of a band called Odesza accompanies the whole concept. But what do I mean by irony? Well, for those of you who don’t know, although spelled tad bit differently, Odesa (Ukraine) used to be Romanian land back in the old days. My grandma used to tell me stories of how her father fought with the communists there in the war. But oh well, geo-politically things have changed since then. Now Odesa is in Ukraine and we’re here. It was just a nice coincidence that I observed, like I was saying. Life is… well, funny.
Therefore, putting all these details aside, enjoy this really cool video about my country, don’t forget to put it on your travel bucket list, when you arrive here, enjoy the wild and yet beautiful nature (for how long it’s going to be cuz ‘thanks’ to massive deforestations done on the territory of our country, who knows how long that’ll last), the music and the overall experience. I promise you won’t regret it!
Well, for now, that’s it. Talk to you guys all next time
