Did you know that 21st of March is the International Day of Forests? I have to admit… had no idea. I came across this nice post on Facebook with a quote of Franklin D Roosevelt saying:
A nation that destroys its soils destroys itself. Forests are the lungs of our land, purifying the air and giving fresh strength to our people.
Franklin D Roosevelt
Now, how do I say this? This instantly vibed with me because it describes perfectly the way I see it and I am a big nature lover that considers forests to be sacred (because duuh, I’m sorry but they provide that kiind of very important thing we need to survive) and you have no idea how terrified I am seeing how the big bad guys with lots of money and law-cheaters cut them away like nothing. If you’d see what currently happens in Romania you’d cry like a baby, your parents and grandparents would cry like babies I guarantee you that. Okay, maybe I exaggerated a bit but it’s for the sake of art of showing off how absolutely dire the situation is around here regarding our forests. But that’s another story for another time now.
I just wanted to wish everybody out there who celebrates it even if in their hearts only, a Happy International Day of Forests! May our forests be protected and left alone to help us in, you know… being alive.
With this being said I bid you farewell till next time,
